The gentle art of acupressure is ideal for children and anyone who would prefer a no-needles approach.
As
with adults, treatment is unique to the child. A detailed history is
taken from the parent prior to the treatment and I also talk to the
child directly so that they understand that I'm here to help.
I
always start with acupressure, but after a few visits, children start to
become more open to trying the needles and often end up braver than the
parents! For younger children the needles are inserted, then quickly
removed, whilst Mum or Dad keeps them entertained. For older children,
I'm able to leave the needles for a little longer whilst they rest and
listen to the calming music in the room.
I aim to make the whole
experience fun, most kids are so mesmerised by my arms (if you've met me,
you'll no doubt know why!), that they barely notice the treatment.
Pediatric
acupressure can be used for a range of childhood ailments as well as
helping many similar conditions I regularly treat in adults.
I offer concessions for treating anyone under the age of 18:
Children's Acupuncture/Acupressure: £25 per session
If you would like to book a treatment or a free 15 minute at The Mitchell Hill Clinic to discuss
